The Florida International University School of Music would like to invite you to our Concerto Competition Winners’ Concert featuring the first place winners of our annual concerto competition who competed in both the collegiate and high school divisions.

Collegiate Division winner and performance major, Gabriel Freeman, will perform Piano Concerto No. 2 by Franz Liszt in its entirety and high school division winner, Angelina Ning, a student at American Heritage School, will perform the first movement of Piano Concerto No. 3 by Sergei Prokofiev. Both will be accompanied by the FIU Symphony Orchestra before a performance of Tchaikovsky’s titan work, Symphony No. 5.

The winners were determined by a distinguished jury including Michael Linville, Associate Dean & Director of Chamber Music at the New World Symphony; Robert Smith, co-founder of the Josef Gingold Chamber Music Festival; John Stuart from FIU Miami Beach Urban Studios, and FIU Concerto Competition Coordinator, Michael Klotz, Senior Instructor of Viola at Florida International University School of Music.
