2020 FIU Cuba Poll: How Cuban Americans in Miami view U.S. policies toward Cuba
About this Event
The Florida International University Cuba Poll, led by the Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs, is the longest running poll of Cuban Americans in the country. The poll was conducted by cell phone and landline from July 7 to August 17, 2020, with a random probability sample of 1,002 completed surveys of Cuban American residents of South Florida, age 18 and over.
FIU’s Cuban Research Institute (CRI) began sponsoring the Cuba Poll in 1991 to record a snapshot of the Cuban American community at a time of major geopolitical change. Join the Green School for a conversation on what the poll reveals in 2020 and how leading experts think it will impact the 2020 Presidential Election and U.S.-Cuba relations.
The 2020 Cuba Poll report will be available at FIU’s Cuban Research Institute website (cri.fiu.edu) on Oct. 2.
Funding for the 2020 Cuba Poll was provided by the FIU Office of the President, the Division of External Relations, Strategic Communications and Marketing, the Cuban Research Institute, the Department of Global & Sociocultural Studies and the Kimberly Green Latin American and Caribbean Center. No external funds were used to conduct the poll.
