DESCRIPTION:Application Deadline: Friday\, March 6\, 2026\n\n \n\nThe Cuban
  Research Institute (CRI)\, the Kimberly Green Latin American and Caribbean
  Center (LACC)\, and the Florida International University Libraries are ple
 ased to announce the competition for the 2026 Díaz-Ayala Library Travel Gra
 nts and request applications. The grants provide scholars and graduate stud
 ents the opportunity to conduct research on the special collections related
  to Cuba and Cuban Americans at the FIU Green Library\, thereby expanding a
 ccess to its unique holdings and enhancing its value as a national resource
 .\n\n \n\nCRI\, LACC\, and the FIU Libraries are offering three research tr
 avel grants of up to $2\,000 each to offset the costs of a minimum one-week
  stay (five working days) to consult the collections. Scholars and graduate
  students in the humanities and the social sciences whose work will be enha
 nced by using the resources of the collections are encouraged to apply. Pri
 ority will be given to scholars who are not previous recipients of the awar
 d.  Two of the awards will be given to U.S.-based scholars or graduate stud
 ents\, in accordance with the requirements of LACC’s U.S. Department of Edu
 cation Title VI Grant. Those residing in other countries are encouraged to 
 apply for the remaining grant. Scholars are encouraged to complete their tr
