The Tri-University Conference is an event that brings together students, faculty, and researchers from three universities for academic exchange and collaboration. These conferences aim to foster interdisciplinary dialogue, share research findings, and facilitate collaboration among scholars from different institutions. This year, the title is: “Hemispheric Dialogues: Advancing Research in the Americas.”

Reflective of the hemispheric crossroads where these universities are located, participants are encouraged to submit abstracts for papers or posters that engage with issues of interest to the Americas, including the Caribbean, and their diasporas. Projects on a local level will receive the same consideration as those on an international, or continental scale. Submissions in English, Portuguese, or Spanish are both welcome and encouraged from all disciplines, including, but not limited to: Anthropology, Art, Business, Economics, Health, History, Humanities, Law, Literary and Linguistic Studies, Medicine, Music, Philosophy, Political Science, Religious Studies, the Sciences, and Sociology. We aim to make the conference as multi- and interdisciplinary as possible.

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
