Please join us for the Fall 2023 Thesis 1 BFA exhibition reception: Within Spaces, Without Time

Fall 2023 BFA Thesis 1 exhibition explores space in relation to time and memory through media such as AR, installation, photography, ceramics, painting, sculpture, video, and several approaches to animation. The works contemplate vulnerability, resilience, speculative worlds, mental health, disability, and the nuances of individual and collective identity. Within Spaces, Without Time marks an important step in the BFA Studio Art and BFA Digital Arts: Animation curriculum and underscores the students’ emerging engagement with contemporary art discourses and practices.

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
