First Miami Edition of “Bring Your Own Video for a Day”

Friday, July 25, 2025, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM, Miami International Fine Arts (MIFA), in collaboration with FIU Department of Art + Art History, presents the first-ever Miami edition of “Bring Your Own Video for a Day,” an experimental open-screen event that has already made waves in cities like New York, Mexico City, Berlin, and Buenos Aires.

This special edition features works by established artists Carola Bravo, Muu Blanco, Dimitry Said Chamy, Marco Caridad, Gabriela Gamboa, Jonathan Pérez, and Mateo Seza, who explore themes of memory, digital identity, urban fragmentation, and poetic resistance through moving images.

Beyond this core group, all artists are welcome. Whether you wish to stay and share your work in real time or simply add your video to the loop, participation is open and encouraged. The Empty Space (Black Box Room) at MIFA will transform into a glowing landscape of projected worlds—unfiltered, uncurated, and fully alive.

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
