A Conversation with FIU Alumnus Eugenio Alemán

Students are invited to hear from and meet Eugenio Alemán, who received his PhD and MA in Economics from FIU and is senior vice president and chief economist at Raymond James, a global financial services company. He will give a presentation/ interview and be available to discuss his job, career path and experience at FIU.

Eugenio Alemán, who joined Raymond James in 2022 as chief economist, previously served as chief economist at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration. Earlier in his career, Alemán was director and senior economist for Wells Fargo Securities before joining Wells Fargo Bank as a vice president and international economist in the corporate economics group.

Dr. Alemán has been a professor of economics at multiple universities. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the Universidad Del Salvador in Argentina and an MBA from Inter-American University in Puerto Rico.
