DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a discussion focused on the state of democra
 cy and tolerance in Central and Eastern Europe. Both democratic and non-dem
 ocratic countries struggle with intolerance and antisemitism\, but these st
 ruggles are exacerbated in non-democratic systems. What effective measures 
 can we take today to address them and other challenges threatening the tran
 satlantic relationship?\n\nThis discussion will feature a group of distingu
 ished experts and alumni of the Advancing Democracy program\, which is run 
 by the American Jewish Committee (AJC) and the German-based Friedrich Nauma
 nn Foundation for Freedom. The program aims to promote human rights\, civil
  rights and open society. It engages hundreds of emerging leaders throughou
 t Central and Eastern Europe in conversations\, seminars and experiential l
 earning opportunities in Europe and the U.S. as they build their skills as
