Join The Women’s Fund on Thursday, June 1st, from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm for Advocacy 104 Training in collaboration with the FIU Maurice A. Ferré Institute for Civic Leadership.

During this vital training, attendees will learn from Yolanda Cash Jackson and Dr. Agatha Caraballo, experts in the field of advocacy and government affairs, how to advocate for issues affecting their communities by learning the necessary skills, tools, and strategies to be successful advocates! It is critical for community members to utilize their voices to promote a more equitable society and advocate for positive local and state changes. 

This will be a hybrid event hosted at the FIU CARTA, Mana Wynwood venue, and virtually via Zoom.

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
