The ASCE Southeast Student Symposium is the American Society of Civil Engineers' annual regional conference, hosted each year by a different university. In 2027, Florida International University is honored to welcome more than 900 civil engineering students from 20 universities across Florida, Georgia, and Puerto Rico for this premier event.

Throughout the academic year, student ASCE chapters dedicate countless hours to designing, building, and testing projects for the Society's flagship competitions, including Concrete Canoe, AISC Student Steel Bridge, Timber-Strong Design Build℠, and other technical and professional events. The symposium provides students with the opportunity to demonstrate their engineering knowledge, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills while competing against their peers.

The three-day event, taking place March 12–14, 2027, will feature nationally recognized engineering competitions, a career fair connecting students with leading employers, networking and professional development opportunities, and an awards banquet celebrating outstanding student achievements. The first two days of the symposium will be held at FIU's Modesto A. Maidique Campus, with the final day taking place at Tropical Park, where teams will compete in the exciting Concrete Canoe races—one of the symposium's signature and most anticipated events.
