Assad’s Syria: A Legacy of Torture and Human Rights Abuses
About this Event
Following the collapse of the Assad regime on December 8, celebrations were quickly muddled by surfacing evidence of egregious human rights violations. Crowds desperately searched for long-lost loved ones within the walls of prisons where the regime detained, tortured and killed thousands of Syrians during the family’s 50-year rule. The existence of these barbaric prisons was no secret, but the discovery of what was occurring inside them brought intense emotions for the victims’ families and the Syrian society at large.
Join us for a timely conversation as our panel of experts sheds light on recent developments and what the future might hold for a post-Assad Syria.
