https://medicine.fiu.edu/research/wertheim-lectureship-series/index.htmlMaria Chahrour, Ph.D., is a tenured associate professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center, with appointments in the Eugene McDermott Center for Human Growth and Development, the Departments of Neuroscience and Psychiatry, and the Center for the Genetics of Host Defense. She is also an investigator in the Peter O’Donnell Jr. Brain Institute and serves as director of the Neuroscience Graduate Program.
Chahrour earned her Ph.D. from Baylor College of Medicine and completed postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School and Boston Children’s Hospital. Her research focuses on the molecular mechanisms underlying autism spectrum disorder and related neurodevelopmental conditions.
