This is a past event.
Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at 12:00pm to 2:00pm
RDB - Rafael Diaz-Balart Law Building, 2005
11200 SW 8th ST, Rafael Diaz-Balart Law Bldg, Miami, Florida 33199
The Black Law Student Association (BLSA) will be holding a week-long conversation about race relations, policing, and criminal justice. We will be inviting law professors, police, attorneys, and community activists to participate in panel discussions about various issues pertaining to this topic. We will also be analyzing a number of films and current events. This week-long conversation will be broken into four parts: 1) a discussion about what the policing and criminal justice system used to be like; 2) a discussion about where these systems are now; 3) a deeper analysis of what the systems look like in Miami and Florida; and, 4) what a world without policing would look like. Each part of the conversation will take place on a different day, but we invite everyone to take in each event.
