DESCRIPTION:Since the 21st century China´s socioeconomic presence in Latin
  America and the Caribbean has increased substantially in all imaginable f
 ields. Based on a group of concepts\, the presentation will focus on Chine
 se infrastructure projects in the region in terms of their number\, amount
 \, employment\, as well as on their qualitative impact on Latin America an
 d the Caribbean\, both internally as well as in their relationship to the 
 US.\n\nGuest Speaker:\n\nEnrique Dussel Peters has a Ph.D. in Economics at
  the University of Notre Dame (1996). Professor at the Graduate School of 
 Economics\, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) since 1993. C
 oordinator of the Center for Chinese-Mexican Studies (Cechimex) of the Sch
 ool of Economics at UNAM and of the Academic Network of Latin America and 
 the Caribbean on China (Red ALC-China). Member of Sistema Nacional de Inve
 stigadores (level 3). Author of chapters and books on political economy\, 
 industrial organization\, development\, processes of segments of global va
 lue chains and the socioeconomic Latin America and Caribbean-China relatio
