“The poets were already there. Their works were there. I am not bringing anything new, I just put them together. They all represent a temporal line in Cuba’s poetry, where I inserted myself at some point. Every one of these poems is a piece of the puzzle that is Cuba today, and they form a map of the places, the feelings, and the atmosphere of that time that began in the early 1990s, when the dramatic events of that moment were expected to change our own history." This anthology, framed between 1993 and 2024, encompasses the last three decades in the life of a country that seems to be dying ever since.

This event hosted in Books & Books will be in Spanish. It is free and open to the public. To confirm your attendance, please email cri@fiu.edu or call (305) 348-1991.

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
