Title: On local energy decay for large solutions of the Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation
Abstract: In this talk we consider the Zakharov-Kuznetsov -(ZK) equation. In Physics, the ZK equation arises as an asymptotic model of wave propagation in a magnetized plasma. The ZK model is globally well-posed in L 2 for d = 2 and d = 3. In this talk we will show a local energy decay of global solutions. We also prove local decay for H1. As a byproduct, our results extend decay properties for KdV and quartic KdV equations proved recently. This is a work in collaboration with: Claudio Muñoz (Universidad de Chile), Juan Carlos Pozo (Universidad de Chile) and Felipe Poblete (Universidad Austral de Chile).
