Join us in Washington, DC, on September 17-19, for three action-packed days of thoughtful discussion, connection, and celebration of Latino culture at our 2024 CHCI Hispanic Heritage Month events!

Through our curated event lineup, Latinos and our allies from across the country will gather in Washington, DC, to honor the vast and critical contributions of our community to U.S. history, society, art, culture, technology and the economy.

This year’s theme is Latino Excellence in Action: Innovation, Influence, and Representation, which honors the undeniable truth that we are creative, resilient, and representative of a vibrant American tapestry.

Issue based breakouts and plenaries at the Leadership Conference will cover topics including health, education, workforce, economic empowerment, and technology.

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
