Creative Writing Workshop with Dr. Elizabeth Nunez

Are you preparing a creative manuscript or short story for publication? If so, please take advantage of the opportunity to work with American Book Award Winner and celebrated author Dr. Elizabeth Nunez. Dr. Nunez immigrated to the U.S. from Trinidad after completing high school. She is the award-winning author of a memoir and ten novels, four of them selected as New York Times Editors’ Choice. Not for Everyday Use, a memoir won the 2015 Hurston Wright Legacy Award for nonfiction and is an Oprah online book club selection. Even in Paradise, was an O, the Oprah Magazine and Essence Magazine selection. Her novel, Bruised Hibiscus, won an American Book Award, and Beyond `the Limbo Silence won the Independent Publishers Book Award.  Nunez received her PhD in English Literature from New York University and is currently a Distinguished Professor at Hunter College, the City University of New York. Her tenth novel, Now Lila Knows, was released in June 2022.

 

Dr. Nunez will be providing selected participants with feedback. Submissions are due by Sept. 16th. The workshop will be held virtually on Sept. 30th. Please see the attached flyer for additional details.
