De amores y guerras. Cuba y España is the dramatic story of two Cuban women who married Spanish men during the last half of the 19th century. The Cuban wars for independence and the impact on the colony of the tumultuous events taking place in Spain are intertwined with the lives of the members of two families whose destinies would merge at the threshold of the 20th century. The diverse voices and perspectives, often contradictory, that resonate throughout the pages of this novel offer a rare insight into a crucial era for both Cuba and Spain, an era that irrevocably altered the lives of the protagonists.
