View map

This film follows the journey of Cuban exiles who, despite being physically separated from their homeland, remain deeply rooted in the culture, history, and spirit of the island. Through poignant memories and vivid reflections, they confront the struggles of displacement, the pain of exile, and the longing for a place that continues to define their identity. As they navigate life in a foreign land, their connection to Cuba becomes a powerful force that shapes their relationships, dreams, and understanding of home. The film offers a deeply personal portrait of what it means to belong to a land you can no longer call your own but always carry within.

This event is free and open to the public. To confirm your attendance, please write cri@fiu.edu or call (305) 348–1991. It will be held in Spanish and English.

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
