Join Dance NOW! Miami for an afternoon of dance live and in person at the Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU. Featuring the company’s newest work “Anusim, what is hidden is never lost.” “Anusim” is a commentary on the story of the Jews of Portugal during the inquisition of 1497 and the decree of King Manuel I allowing them to remain in Portugal as “New Christians.” The company will be traveling to Cascais, Portugal, the sister city of Miami Beach to perform the work at the RHI Festival of the arts June 24. The afternoon of contemporary dance will also feature José Limon’s “La Malinche” from 1947, a work about the Spanish colonization of Mexico.
