 oin us on May 18 at 7:00 PM for the screening of the locally produced docu
 mentary “Dual Citizen”. The film is a personal voyage of filmmaker Rac
 helle Salnave and her father’s quest for their Haitian citizenship. The 
 film won the Louies Award\,  an initiative of the Miami Film Festival.\n\n
 A humorous and heartfelt documentary about one father’s reluctant effort
  to help his daughter reclaim her Haitian citizenship – even if it means
  confronting a past he thought he’d left behind. Filmmaker Rachelle Saln
 ave embarks on a deeply personal journey with her father\, Edouard\, to te
 st a 2012 amendment to Haiti’s Constitution that restores the right to H
 aitian nationality for those who had lost it.\n\nBut the process is far fr
 om simple: Edouard\, a proud New York Republican who hasn’t set foot in 
 Haiti in more than 50 years\, must become Haitian again before his daughte
 r can—forcing him to engage with a country and a government he’s kept 
 at arm’s length since his family’s political exile in the 1960s.\n\nPr
