Abstract

Environmental science provides important insights into complex environmental challenges, but translating scientific knowledge into policy, investment, and action requires collaboration across disciplines and political perspectives. This seminar will explore how environmental science can extend beyond traditional scientific roles and offer a practical framework for building an interdisciplinary environmental career. We will look at real examples, such as conservation work in the Amazon and Andes and how major funding was secured for projects in Florida. These stories will show how science, policy, funding, communication, and public trust all come together to turn environmental ideas into real action.
