Biological Conservation

Speaker: Dr. Ram Prasad Chaudhary - Professor Emeritus, Tribhuvan University, Nepal

 

About: This Friday, we will be joined by Dr. Ram Prasad Chaudhary, who will be discussing Biological Conservation. You may recognize Dr. Chaudhary from a new plant species from Nepal, Saussurea ramchaudharyi (Asteraceae), which was named after him. Dr. Chaudhary has contributed to policy formulation for the Nepalese government in biodiversity and environment, widely travelled on foot in mountains of Nepal Himalaya, visited 10 major herbaria, received 28 awards and medals, led 28 research projects, and supervised 5 PhD and over 60 Master’s theses. He has also established in his name: (i) a Gold Medal Award in TU, and (ii) a Science Scholarship in a Secondary School in the village where he was born and received primary level education.
