FIU MFA Candidate Elisa Bendetti Exhibiting - New Atlantis Group Show at Green Space Miami

NEW ATLANTIS is a group show of thirteen Miami artists celebrating the communities that built this city, highlighting and preserving what Miami feels like today. Visual artworks that tell stories of neighborhoods, celebrate resident histories, enshrining local cultures, from its folklore and ecosystem, to contemporary rituals and lifestyles.

Continuing Green Space Miami’s focus on elevating and preserving Miami’s culture, the 2025 open call invited artists to submit proposals that recognize and celebrate the communities that built this city. Communities prevailing, singing, dancing and speaking their language while development slowly paves over. A city subsiding under the weight of its own skyline, eroded by geological and economic forces, a mosaic melting into something new – a new Atlantis.

Godfather of punk and Miami resident for over two decades, Iggy Pop kindly gave Green Space Miami his blessing to include his ode to Miami, a song titled New Atlantis, as a prompt to artists.

About Green Space Miami
Every year, Green Space Miami produces a group show of works from Miami artists. Originally conceived to benefit Miami artists during the pandemic lockdown, the search for space to exhibit awardees’ work led to the foundation of Green Space Miami, the Green Family Foundation’s permanent community art space with a year-round program of exhibitions and events focused on supporting Miami’s artists.
