Janvier Gasana, M.D. is a professor of Occupational and Environmental Medicine and the founder and chair of the Global Applied Prevention Center (GAPCI) in Pembroke Pines. Originally from Rwanda, Gasana studied, practiced medicine, and served as chair of the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health at the University of Rwanda. He earned both his Master of Public Health and Ph.D. in Environmental and Occupational Health from the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health. Gasana played a key role in establishing the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health at Florida International University Robert Stempel College of Public Health & Social Work and at Kuwait University, where he also served as the founding chair and director of the Master of Public Health program.
