The Jack D. Gordon Institute for Public Policy, in collaboration with the Steven J. Green School of International & Public Affairs, Master of Arts in Global Affairs program, and the Kimberly Green Latin American and Caribbean Center, is happy to welcome Sherri Goodman, Secretary General of the International Military Council on Climate & Security and a Senior Fellow at the Wilson Center, to FIU! Ms. Goodman has been a leader in environmental, energy, and climate security since she served as the first Deputy Undersecretary of Defense (Environmental Security).

Dive into her latest publication, “Threat Multiplier: Climate, Military Leadership, and the Fight for Global Security,” as she shares how resilience challenges and related risks present security and economic threats globally and locally here in South Florida.

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
