Join the Jaffer Center for Muslim World Studies at FIU as we hold our Annual interfaith Iftar dinner in observance of Ramadan. The holy month of Ramadan is observed by Muslims worldwide. According to Islamic belief, it commemorates the first revelation of the Quran from Allah (God) to the Prophet Muhammad, through the angel Gabriel.

This interfaith Iftar dinner is a communal breaking of the fast that welcomes Muslims and non-Muslims alike to come together in a celebratory meal. It will begin with a short program followed by Maghrib prayer and then dinner.

This event is free and open to the public, but RSVP is required.

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
