Virtual Event

Join us for the upcoming FIU-RCMI Research in Progress Seminar, Developing a Trauma-Informed Measure of Youth Sexual Health, facilitated by Dr. Nicole Fava.

Dr. Nicole Fava’s innovative pilot project focuses on developing a multidimensional trauma-informed measure of sexual health to understand sexual health without retraumatizing youth with histories of adversity. Her project systematically includes youth who are often excluded from research—racial/ethnic minority youth and youth with histories of adversity and trauma. Guided by trauma-informed principles of trustworthiness and transparency, collaboration and mutuality, empowerment, voice, choice, and cultural issues, the proposed research departs from a risk-focused framework of sexuality and embraces a comprehensive definition of sexual health.

The meeting will be held virtually; Zoom login information will be provided upon RSVP
