FIU in Washington, D.C. is hosting an in-person event at the FIU in D.C. center, featuring higher-ed leaders and prominent thinkers who will share their insights with The Chronicle and discuss how institutions can find a path forward, even as resources remain scarce.
Research universities have long embraced a dual focus: to educate students and advance knowledge. But, these two goals often find themselves in competition with one another. How can institutions balance both their efforts to advance student success and contribute to global research?
The Chronicle brings together university leaders and prominent thinkers for an in-person event where we will explore:
- How do university leaders and experts view the challenges facing research universities today?
- Where do they see student-success and research efforts complementing each other?
- How can universities balance strategic priorities, such as climbing national rankings, increasing social mobility, and increasing faculty research?
