FIU in Washington, D.C. invites the FIU community to attend the CHLI Annual Trade & International Affairs Symposium.

In the spirit of CHLI’s vision of advancing the Hispanic Community’s diversity of thought, the CHLI Trade & International Affairs Symposium brings together international business leaders, experts on trade, members of the diplomatic community, Members of Congress, and U.S. government officials to discuss trade issues and international affairs that affect U.S. global competitiveness.

Held during Hispanic Heritage Month, the Symposium is spearheaded by CHLI’s Vice-Chairmen Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX) and Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (FL), and includes discussions on the importance of the U.S. Hispanic Community’s contributions to the global economy, and the importance of trade for our hemisphere’s diplomatic relations and global competitiveness.

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
