FIU in Washington, D.C.

The Public Policy Colloquium of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Engineering Deans Council (EDC), which began in 1991, is organized by a Public Policy Committee, comprised of engineering deans – members of EDC.

Register now for an exciting program focused on regional innovation and competitiveness. The U.S. Congress and Biden Administration are poised to make major investments in critical technology areas focused on growing our talent base, broadening capacity, and advancing use-inspired research around the nation. As hubs for research and workforce development in their regions and nationally, schools and colleges of engineering are key players to make progress on these issues. Deans will come together to discuss these topics and other policy issues facing schools of engineering with federal agency officials, Members of Congress, and other policymakers.

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
