FIU in Washington D.C. invites all FIU Panthers in D.C. to participate in this virtual, week-long event!

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities has announced National Hispanic-Serving Institutions week will be observed Sept. 12-18, 2022. The observance takes place during National Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated Sept. 15-Oct. 15. Each year, HACU government relations staff works with members of Congress to recognize the contributions of Hispanic-Serving Institutions in their communities.

Celebrate National HSIs Week and Tag @HACUNews on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram and use hashtag #HSIsWeek. Or email HACU at news@hacu.net to share your stories and to let the Association know what your institution has planned.

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
