The Landscape Architecture Foundation is a non-profit organization and one of landscape architecture's leading organizations whose mission is to support the preservation, improvement, and enhancement of the environment through innovative research, scholarships, and leadership. To date, LAF has invested over $3 million in research initiatives, awarded over $1.5 million to more than 600 students, and since its founding in 1966 has worked to strengthen the profession and collaborate with leaders in practice, academia, and industry to provide thought leadership in designing sustainable landscape solutions. The foundation also supports the development of emerging student leaders and young professionals.

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
