FIU in Washington D.C. encourages FIU Panthers in D.C. to participate in National Forensic Science Week. 2022 marks the 10th annual celebration of forensic science and forensic scientists across the country. From September 18-24, 2022, agencies, cities, states, and national organizations will honor the dedicated work of those in forensic science.

Global Forensic and Justice Center (GFJC) coordinates all forensic science and criminal justice efforts at FIU. Our purpose is equitable justice through science, scholarship, and service. Our structure builds on four established focus areas - Academia, Industry, Technology and International Justice - dramatically expanding the university's footprint and providing unparalleled opportunities for students, postdocs, faculty, practitioners and agencies worldwide.

Be sure to follow updates on the Forensic Science Week and the FIU's GFJC's websites for updates on upcoming events!

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
