Location: Florida International University (Miami)

Deadline to apply: Sunday, September 12th

The American Enterprise Institute’s Academic Programs department is proud to announce our first in-person National Student Conference on Hispanic Politics.

A partnership between the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute, Florida International University, and AEI, this program is open to undergraduate students from all political and ethnic backgrounds. Its aim is to immerse rising student leaders in unique perspectives on issues that are relevant for all Americans, and to highlight the Hispanic community’s diversity of thought.

Students will get the chance to hear from leaders in public policy, government, and the media through keynote panels and private breakout sessions. Topics will include the future of the Hispanic electorate, intergenerational mobility, Latin America in an age of great power competition, environmental policy, the Cuban protests, and much more.

A brief application is required for this conference and selection will be competitive. Admissions will be made on a rolling basis; we strongly encourage interested applicants to apply early to give themselves the best chance of being selected. Participation in this conference will be cost-free for all selected students, with meals, travel, and lodging fully covered.

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
