FIU in DC: SmartCities Week, Washington, DC

This is a past event.

Wednesday, October 2, 2019

MGM National Harbor 101 MGM National Avenue, Oxon Hill, MD 20745

On behalf of the Smart Cities Council, I am delighted to introduce you to Smart Cities Week, our annual gathering of our community of partners, cities and supporting stakeholders that helps accelerate smart cities action and investment in our cities, town, and regions across the world. Our goal is to help our communities become more livable, workable and sustainable.

In 2019, regardless of location – whether it be San Diego, CA, Washington DC, or Sydney Australia – Smart Cities Week will be delivering structured dialogue, peer networking and educational content focused on our international theme of: Smart Infrastructure: Equitable Communities.

Many of the challenges facing cities around the world are common in nature, but rarely common in context. Each and every city and town are different, but many of the required solutions are the same.

This is a big opportunity to catalyze change, and at Smart Cities Week we seek to explore and align opportunities for problem-solving through the application of innovative smart cities technologies and data solutions that can scale and make a significant social impact.

Smart Cities Week has opted for a new model of convening, one that seeks to facilitate multi-stakeholder dialogue and networking, as opposed to predominantly delegates being ‘presented at’.

Our boardroom sessions, City Readiness Hub dialogues, and Leadership Circle discussions break the traditional conference design. These session types have been designed, tested and are now at the heart of our engagement model with our delegates.

For more than four years, Smart Cities Week has brought together cities, technology companies and solution providers who all have the same goal – to enhance our cities and towns.

In 2019 we continue this role in facilitating smart cities action and invite you to join us to more deeply explore the theme of  Smart Infrastructure: Equitable Communities.
