Join us for an inspiring evening honoring Latino Influencers over canapes, cocktails, light buffet, and musical performances. The Intercontinental Wharf with its beautiful water views serves as the backdrop to honor Latino influencers including those who served our U.S. military at the highest ranks. Registration and a reception with open bar begin at 6:30 PM; at 7:30 PM the awards program begin, and at 9:00 PM we host a light buffet with socializing. The awards have been held across the United States in Las Vegas, Miami, San Antonio, Los Angeles and have found their home in Washington, D.C. The 2018 Honorees will be announced in late October. There is limited capacity and we expect to be sold out.

The Friends of the National Museum of the American Latinostrives to create a museum in our nation’s capital to educate, inspire and encourage respect and understanding of the richness and diversity of the American Latino experience within the U.S. and its territories by highlighting the contributions made by Latino leaders, pioneers and communities to the American way of life. FRIENDS is not affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution.

The American Latino Influencer Awards (ALIA) recognize Latino leaders and trailblazers in public service, arts and culture, business, and in the government. Previous recipients of ALIAs include the Castro family (HUD Secretary Julián Castro, Congressman Joaquín Castro, and civil rights activist Rosie Castro); former Las Vegas Convention Chief, Manny Cortez (awarded posthumously and accepted by his daughter, U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez-Masto); Nevada Senators Harry Reid (D) and Dean Heller (R); Music Director and Conductor of the Miami Symphony Orchestra, Eduardo Marturet; Mayor of Miami, Tomas Regalado; The Madrigal 10; Presidential Medal of Honor recipient Sylvia Mendez; Telemundo founder Frank Cruz and journalist Giselle Fernandez.
