In celebration of the FIU Music Festival and Hispanic Heritage Month, the dynamic Raices Jazz Orchestra will wow audiences with a fusion of Latin Rhythms and Big Band Jazz!
The Raices Jazz Orchestra (RJO) is a South Florida-based music project. This crossover powerhouse is a one-of-a-kind hybrid of “jazz meets world.” It is led by saxophonist, composer, and arranger, Dr. Pablo Gil, and percussionist, composer, producer, and FIU alumnus Tony Succar. Both Gil and Succar perform and are featured on “Eye of the Hurricane,” the first cut of their album in production. The massively successful ’17 video release mixes youth-infused Latin big band with layers of freshly diverse percussive punches in a unique blend of tight, might, and right!
