Friday, October 9, 2026 7:00pm - Saturday, October 10, 2026 7:00pm EDT

FIU is joining Qollab and IonQ to host a global quantum hackathon, and you're invited. You don't need any experience with quantum computing. Over 48 hours, you'll work with a team to explore real-world uses of quantum computing, with support from Qollab and IonQ. The event is fully virtual, so you can take part from anywhere.

Event details

Dates: Friday, October 9, 7:00 p.m. ET, to Sunday, October 11, 7:00 p.m. ET

Format: Virtual, 48 hours

Teams: One to four people. Students, professionals and teams that mix different fields are all welcome.

Tracks: Hybrid Quantum; Creative/Interdisciplinary; and AI for Quantum/Education

Prizes

The top global team wins $10,000 in cash and $20,000 in quantum computing credits. FIU will also give out its own local awards once our students send in at least 10 projects. The more CEC teams that take part, the better your chances of winning.
