The 2020 Global Health Conference of the Americas will take place Oct 7-10, 2020.

The conference will discuss topics that impact global health, including:

COVID-19: Addressing various aspects and impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference will include discussions on social and economic inequalities, national strategies to control COVID-19, policy and best practices, the importance of health communication, education during a pandemic, and how we can do better.

Vector-borne diseases: The COVID-19 pandemic greatly impacted vector-borne disease prevention and management, the conference will include topics that include the potential effect on the Dengue Integrated Management Strategy and ongoing malaria control programs.

Immunizations: Participants will discuss vaccine development for SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19), program implementation and vaccine access, the pandemic's impact on national immunization programs, vaccination in the life course, and vaccine confidence.

Antimicrobial resistance: Advances in preventing antimicrobial resistance will be discussed, including molecular epidemiology in ASP surveillance as well as current challenges facing prevention efforts.

Housed in Florida International University’s Robert Stempel College of Public Health & Social Work, the Global Health Consortium (GHC) is an accelerator for multidisciplinary initiatives to address key challenges in global health affecting the large populations around the globe.
