Global Health Conference of the Americas

This is a past event.

Wednesday, September 13

For nearly 8 years, Florida International University has partnered with organizations near and far to bring you the Global Health Conference of the Americas. The conference unites experts from all parts of the world to explore the global health challenges we face now and into the future. Together with our conference partners, we’ve created an agenda filled with seminars, workshops and networking opportunities designed to create a truly memorable experience for our attendees.

This year, the World Health Organization ended its declaration of COVID-19 as a global health emergency. As global health leaders, these past few years have cemented how critical it is for us to reflect and prepare for what the future might bring. Conferences like this one help us come together to develop recommendations that organizations and governments can implement to protect their communities. Together, we will explore topics like advances in immunizations, climate change, nutrition and obesity, environmental health, pandemic preparedness, Alzheimer’s disease, and so much more.

Join us on September 13th, 14th, and 15th, 2023, in Cartagena, Colombia, in the Cartagena de Indias Convention Center.

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
