Join the Department of Economics for a presentation by FIU Visiting Professor Martin Redrado, former President of the Argentine Central Bank, Director of the Master in Central Banking program at Asia Business School, author and speaker, who will be discussing economic financial crisis management, focusing on the historical role of central banks. Topics to be examined include risk management approach for effective decision making; main pillars for a sound economic policy; and unconventional tools for dealing with crisis.

Guest Speaker:

Martín Redrado is a renowned economist and a leading authority on international economic policy, particularly in emerging markets. He served as Governor of the Central Bank of Argentina from 2004 to 2010, where he played a critical role in steering the country through the global financial crisis. His extensive experience includes serving as Senior Economist at the World Bank from 2016 to 2018, where he focused on emerging markets, and as Director of the Masters in Central Banking at the Asia Business School in Kuala Lumpur. A Harvard University graduate with a Master's in Business Administration, Redrado has also had a successful career in the private sector, holding key positions at institutions such as Salomon Brothers and Security Pacific Bank. He is the author of six influential books on economics and public policy, and his insights and leadership have established him as one of the most respected economists in Latin America.
