Join Florida International University's 9th Heart Day Symposium on February 13, 2026, a forum for cardiovascular researchers, healthcare providers, educators and trainees to explore advances in prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

The program created by FIU’s Department of Biomedical Engineering will feature keynote speaker Craig Goergen, Ph.D. a leading expert on novel imaging techniques used to improve detection and management of both cardiac and vascular disease.

Following Goergen’s lecture, there will be a demonstration on how engineers can influence medicine beyond direct involvement in clinical care, as well as a poster symposium that will highlight cutting edge cardiovascular research being performed in South Florida. The day will be capped off with “flash talks,” 3-minute presentations on current challenges and the future of cardiovascular investigation and medicine.
