Every year, #FIUSCIS host Employer Information Sessions on campus, often in conjunction with Career and Talent Development or with participation in Career Fairs.

What is an Information Session?
During these sessions, employers make presentations on topics that include the organization’s career opportunities, culture, and products or services. Usually, you will have an opportunity to speak with the representatives in small groups or one-on-one before or after the presentation. Professional or “business casual” dress is appropriate unless otherwise indicated and have your resume ready.

Who Should Attend?
The vast majority of Employer Information Sessions are open to all interested students and are a great way for you to learn what it might be like to work for a specific employer or in a given industry.

These sessions offer a rare opportunity to talk with recent grads who are working in your field of interest, get answers to your questions, and learn more about how to become a stronger candidate. In some cases, employers require that you attend these sessions if you have a scheduled interview with them.

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
