About this Event
11200 SW 8th ST, Academic Health Center 2, Miami, Florida 33199
Michael P. Epstein, Ph.D., is a statistical geneticist, who received his Ph.D. in Biostatistics from the University of Michigan (co-advisors: Drs. Michael Boehnke and Xihong Lin). His research focuses on statistical techniques for genetic and genomic analysis of complex human traits and diseases. This work involves two synergistic components: a methodological component focused on developing statistical techniques for improved gene mapping and an applied component focused on mapping genes involved in diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, breast cancer and orofacial clefting.
Lunch will be provided.
