DESCRIPTION:Lang Wu\, Ph.D.\, conducts research on the epidemiological inve
 stigation of genetic\, molecular\, nutritional\, and lifestyle factors in 
 the etiology and prognosis of chronic diseases\, with a particular focus o
 n cancer. His long-term research goal is to translate this knowledge into 
 strategies for the prevention\, risk assessment\, early detection\, and pr
 ognosis prediction of chronic diseases. Wu's research has been supported b
 y grants from the National Cancer Institute\, National Human Genome Resear
 ch Institute\, National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparitie
 s\, the V Foundation\, and others.\n\nA primary focus of Wu’s current wo
 rk is conducting integrative multi-omics studies (genomics\, transcriptomi
 cs\, methylomics\, proteomics\, metabolomics\, etc.) to identify novel sus
 ceptibility genes and biomarkers for chronic diseases. He has led several 
 large transcriptome-wide association studies that evaluate the association
 s of genetically predicted gene expression levels with the risks of prosta
 te\, pancreatic\, and breast cancers\, identifying multiple novel suscepti
 bility gene candidates for these cancers. Additionally\, Wu has explored D
 NA methylation\, protein\, and metabolite biomarkers associated with human
  diseases using genetic instruments\, identifying several novel biomarker 
 candidates for prostate and pancreatic cancer. Furthermore\, Wu is investi
 gating disease risk prediction through the integration of genetic\, molecu
