The Kimberly Green Latin American and Caribbean Center (LACC) is pleased to co-sponsor Finding Sanctuary in the Diaspora, the first program in the 2026–2027 iWitness Lunch Break Series, presented by the FIU Public Humanities Lab.

Join documentary photographer and filmmaker Woosler Delisfort for a conversation about his exhibition, SANCTUARY: Our Sacred Place, currently on display at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex. Through photography and storytelling, Delisfort explores the spiritual origins of Miami’s Indigenous, African, and Caribbean communities and examines how these communities create sacred spaces that serve as sources of identity, resilience, and belonging.

The conversation will feature responses from Michelle Grant-Murray (Miami Dade College, Olujimi Dance Collective, Florida Black Dance Artists Organization) and Dr. Albert Wuaku (FIU Department of Religious Studies). The program will also include a special performance by Michelle Grant-Murray and colleagues, with music by DJ Mack.

Lunch will be provided.

About the Speaker

Woosler Delisfort is a documentary photographer and filmmaker based in Little Haiti, Miami. His work explores spirituality, culture, and community through visual storytelling. Delisfort's projects document the humanity, creativity, and resilience of communities in South Florida, the Caribbean, and West Africa, challenging stereotypes and highlighting the role of spiritual and cultural traditions in everyday life.
