A Miami native, interested in urbanism and landscape, Shaylin is focused on using her interest in public spaces and its important connection to its surrounding context to create meaningful public spaces. Through her studies, travels and professional experience she has developed an in-depth understanding of the importance of the public realm within urban environments and strives to advance her ideas in better integrating components of sustainability, socioeconomic and ecology into projects.

Please join us tomorrow at 6:45pm at Mana Wynwood for our Panther Alumni Week Conversation with Shaylin Castillo (MLA ’18), PLA, ASLA, and Project Manager at Witkin Hults + Partners, Landscape Architecture & Planning

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
