Last Day for Fall 2023 (Enhanced RA; Additional Hours; Outside Employment; Remote Assistantship) Petitions to GPD

Friday, June 9

Virtual Event

Friday, June 9, 2023 is the last day to submit Summer 2023 petitions to the the Graduate Program Director, Dr. Pruden. For questions, please email psygrad@fiu.edu

Petitions for Enhanced Research Assistantships, Additional Hours, Outside Employment and Remote Assistantships will be accepted until Friday, June 9, 2023 for Fall 2023 consideration.

Enhanced Research Assistantships: Requests for an enhanced research assistantship can be made if your roles or responsibilities exceed that of a normal research assistant. Decisions are made at the department and do not require CASE or UGS approval. Funds for these enhancements must come from your major professor and will not come from the department, CASE or UGS. Please secure all signatures (i.e., yours, major professor) before sending to sdick@fiu.edu and copying psygrad@fiu.edu.

Additional Hours/Outside Employment: Petitions for additional hours or outside employment require approval by both CASE and UGS for 5 or more hours per week. For less than 5 hours, we still need your petition, but this won't require additional approval. You will want to make sure you provide information about meeting your program benchmarks as well as how additional hours and/or outside employment is relevant for your training. Please secure all signatures (i.e., yours, major professor, program director) before sending to sdick@fiu.edu and copying psygrad@fiu.edu.

Remote Assistantship: It is also important that you provide a justification for the need of a remote assistantship as well as provide information about your progress in meeting your program benchmarks. Please secure all signatures (i.e., yours, major professor, program director) before sending to me sdick@fiu.edu  and copying psygrad@fiu.edu
